George Bularca Negru
George Bularca Negru (b. 1995, Brașov, Romania; lives, studies, and works in Frankfurt, Germany) is an artist interested in problems arising from a mediatised world. His practice aims to engage with new technologies, their promises of emancipation, and how these developments take form as they shape us in return. These ideological and political structures are reflected in a variety of works intersecting architectural interventions, drawing, sculpture, and performance, mixing novel and traditional techniques.
Bularca Negru is currently studying at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and is a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, including at Schugar Rotariu, Frankfurt am Main (2025); Xxijra Hii, London (2024); Ginny on Frederick, London (2023); Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin (2023); John Hansard Gallery, Southampton (2022); Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge (2022); London Performance Studios, London (2022). In 2025, he was awarded the DAAD Prize.
