Daniel Moldoveanu
Daniel Moldoveanu (b. 1999, Constanța, Romania) is an Austrian artist and essayist. He holds a diploma from the Fashion Institute of Vienna, Austria, a BA in Cultural Studies and Art History from the Humboldt University and has attended the University of Fine Arts in Berlin, Germany, where he presently lives and works. His interdisciplinary approach circles around ideas of superficiality, examined in creative writing through the lenses of philosophy, critical theory and cultural analysis; and in visual arts through painting, video, mixed media, and photography. His work interrogates the ways in which visual and material culture are circulated, commodified, and repurposed.
Moldoveanu's work has been exhibited internationally in venues such as Linseed Projects (Shanghai, 2025), Kunsthalle Zürich (Zürich, 2024), GROTTO (Berlin, 2024), Invitro (Bucharest, 2024), SABOT (Cluj-Napoca, 2023). His essays, reviews and opinion pieces have appeared in Artforum, Spike Art Magazine, 032c, Arts of the Working Class, Sleek Magazine, POP-Kultur & Kritik, Nuda Paper among others.
